These are awesome! One quick Blender question Ian, how do you save/share blender files so that it retains all the materials like this when someone else opens the file? Everytime i have tried this and open a file on a new machine i need to re-link all the materials to their source folders. Is there a certain setting i need to activate that allows this to happen?

Ah! That's good to know!! Yeah I've really started trying to document more stuff (now I just gotta remember to turn on the keystroke visualizer at some point)
