Was really impressed with this rig today at Rokoko Zoom )

Impressive IK rigging!

My computer couldn't handle these assets to save it's life.

AWESOME!!!Your work is always exciting

Erich Stenzel

i will be more glad in seeing you modeling the Humanoid Robot Arm and Robot Pieces.....pretty please...

Tommy Shades

so sick

Gehrig Campbell-Dempsey

So dope!

It's not all that complicated! It's basically just the same few basic techniques repeated over and over until it looks complex :D BUT YES! It's a GREAT way to test stuff out. I'm mocking stuff up using IK constraints right now, actually, and hopefully I'll be able to laser-cut them out and just have everything work... we'll see how it goes!

Grant Abbott

This looks like a very cool way of using blender to test mechanical parts before 3d printing them. Looking forward to learning how to rig this arm but it looks very complicated.

Mornarion

Insanely freaking cool <3

This is great - so many different learnings in here. Now I need a rainy weekend for playtime

oh man, holy wow. I got the suit a while back after seeing you do magic w/ it. Loving it so far but seeing what the gloves can do has me drooling. What's your hot take on the gloves? Wasn't sure if the first release of 'em would be buggy or whatever.

Ian Hubert

Ah thanks Jan! :D The textures are kinda low res, but I think it works regardless. It always turns out there's just one small spot on an image texture that works JUST right, and I'll use it over and over.

Ian Hubert

Yeah! Rokoko recently released some gloves- they're ridiculously responsive :D And yeah! You can replicate a lot of that look in blender (they have both noise/diffusion/aberration), but I also have an after effects composition with a bunch of adjustment layers in there with different effects I usually use for final renders. It's just kinda a habit. There's an addon called FilmConvert I use with a lot of logarithmic footage that's also fun to stick on low-contrast CG renders that does a bunch of the lifting- but I'm also pretty obsessed with just a good old diffusion pass (so great for getting rid of that sterile cg look).

This is beautiful! did you do the tracking of the fingers with Rokoko mocap too?? Another question, I love the final touches you do to your creations that look always very cinematographic (the noise, some color aberration... ). I see it's not in the blender file, do you apply it in after effects? blender compositing? just magic? Thanks!

Mario Taylor

So cool!!

Jan van den Hemel

I love the shader and texture 😍

very cool!
