Mmm, gonna have to push back on Tyrion being a good Hand to Daenerys. By the time that happened D&D were already going off the rails and bringing the characters down with them. Especially when Dany and co. arrived in Westeros. Basically everything Tyrion told Dany to do ended up being the wrong move, iirc.

The war couldn’t have been ended in that scene. Even if Rhaenyra died, she has four sons, and Daemon would never surrender. Rhaenys would use the murder of Rhaenyra during a peace talk to rally support for Jace’s claim, and it would likely be easier to get the lords of the realm to support his claim now that they would immediately have a king.
