New year's dip at the sea
🕑 Added 2026-01-02 20:58:43 +0000 UTCYesterday I went to the seaside with a friend and her daughter and it was lovely to share the first dip of 2026 in good company and laughter in a beautiful place with quite a few of walkers in big coats. Love the contrasts.

Before yesterday, I finally managed to try a dip in the mountain stream where I normally swim in summer. Water temperature was probably just above 0°C (there was ice on stones dipping in the stream) and air around -5°C sunny 😎. I didn’t dare to put my shoulders in the water, the current was too cold and too strong.

What a great start in the new year. I got inspired by your work a joined a group event of new year swim. Brrr.. it was not that fun like you had. Have you been the only one going for a swim that freely? Big contrast to the swimmers in full neoprene.
