After giving it a break for a couple days, I came back with fresh eyes and revisited some of the secondary details to add a bit more functonality to her costume. I also ended up going with the 3rd color scheme. I really like how the warm and cool color contrast turned out!
I won't write on too much about the rendering process, but the main idea is to describe the form and materials as well as possible without loosing the clarity of the design. Before jumping into rendering this character, I did a quick search to gather reference for each material. This really helps to add that extra level of believability to the design.
Now it's time to compile all the footage and make a process video!
