I'm always fascinated by people's thought process, which is why I love seeing sketches. The push and pull of the idea. Where it not only has to look right, it has to feel right. This is mesmerizing. :)

Chloe

I love watching these process videos so much! They feel both soothing and educational haha.

Loish

good point! the 'real time' version is about 2hrs 40 mn long. so that's about as long as I took to make it, including some breaks in between!

Greg Schultz

So helpful to see the entire process! How long would you estimate the "real time" was to do this work. I have trouble grasping that when viewing speeded-up versions.

I'm using Procreate 5, but it won't import .tpl unfortunately. I'll just have to find a friend who can export it to another format from photoshop ^^;

Monika Kucharska

thank you :)

Ashley

I recommend starting with pictures of anatomy! I have to same problem so understanding what the hand really looks like helped me. Then I just did a ton of sketches of my own hands. Good luck!

Christina

You should be able to import .abd if you've updated to Procreate ^^

LEBuwu

Ooh beautiful!! Aw man, I just bought and downloaded the macalabs brush set without realising it was .tpl so I can't import it into Procreate ^^; Oops

Happy to see the process videos because i think i learn so many things in these videos. Can you tell us which brushes do you usually use, like sketch brush ... coloring brush...

Jeremiah Justice

Beautiful work! I'm so glad you fixed the sleeve, that was bugging me for half the timelapse 😂 (It was curving the wrong way)

Monika Kucharska

I have a question...I have problem with drawing hands ...I tried to follow tutorials but they show like really difficult way :)....any suggestion ? well I think it also depends on the practice....:)....observes how you draw and seems simple but in practice comes out differently...well I will keep practice then :)

Thank you for sharing this information. It is so useful!

i use procreate sometimes! for this drawing i used photoshop, but for procreate, maxpacks brushes are my favorite - especially the gouache ones. they are textured and creamy. i also like these brushes: http://cbr.sh/ai2y9?ref=loish

Loish

i use bandicam! i bought it ages ago... could be that there are way better options out there now.

Biiaboo

So helpful, I love it 🤩 The steps are very insightful and well explained! So cool 😎

Evie

SO awesome!!!! do you use procreate? If so are there any brushes you like?

Artie Parker

What programs do you use to screen record and edit your videos?

Divi (Lovewin)

I might need to to try this one layer thing because I definitely get lost in my layers. One time I maxed the layers in paint tool sai

Sarah cole

This is really insightful ..thank you for including some detailed explanation into the process and not just putting up a video. Really amazing work 😘🥰

Michele

This is so great to watch. I love knowing that even you do many sketches before you settle on finding 😁 I really want to work on using less layers so my art doesn't get so disjointed. I really want more cohesive colour schemes too!

Loish

hmm, that's a problem i struggle with too! i sometimes spend a lot of time just cleaning up and polishing and I have to force myself to stop. the main thing that's helped is to set a time limit because that forces me to make better choices with what i end up cleaning up and polishing. and also going back a few steps sometimes - checking how the painting looked at an earlier stage. often, it looked better when it was a bit rougher, so then i know i need to stop!

Nic

Looking forward to watch this one!! The progress of an artwork is like magic. A lot to learn from!

Theeio

hi! i was wondering if you had any advice for finishing paintings quicker? i find my process a lot slower than cel shading as my sketches are messy (so its hard to clean up later) and im always caught up with cleaning up and rendering every detail "perfectly" (i dont really know what is considered a completed painting), which results with me losing steam and rarely finishing any of them ;w; i was wondering if you had any tips for knowing when to finish a painting?

appleminte

I love seeing & hearing your process, thanks for the video! Your artwork is always so beautiful and inspirational. :)

cherooshi

getting caught up in the details is an issue i've always struggled with! it's so refreshing to see the honest process of a professional artist. your process videos always get me pumped about creating art <3

Loish

haha yes, totally relatable. i feel that way basically every time.

Hannah England

I’m going to have to come back to this later today and check out your “ugly stage,” which is what I call that moment after the sketch but before details where it suddenly looks like a hot mess and I doubt my ability as an artist 🤣 I like remembering that everyone has to do that stage when they make art! Thanks for sharing.
