Quick update
🕑 Added 2017-12-08 04:14:10 +0000 UTC Hey everyone!I'm just posting a quick update regarding the recent fee changes; I'm working crunch hours, so I haven't had a time to go through the announcement and changes properly (and won't for a week or so since I am working through this weekend too); but from what I have been able to gather, it all looks pretty awful. A patreocolypse, if you will.
I'm not interested in 'taking home more of my pledges' by having you charged more. That makes no sense. It's all the same pie. I will probably look at switching things up a bit in response before I enter a new monthly cycle; I'll look at options like dropping tier prices a bit, restructuring rewards, and whatever else I can think up to try and make it so you guys aren't paying more for the same thing. However, as $1 is the minimum you can pledge, I don't know what I can do about the hikes on the lower tiers.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions! I don't blame anyone who has to disable their pledge, by either needing to roll back, or out of disgust. If this is you, I can only offer you my sincerest gratitude for your contributions while you were here. It's been a challenging and stressful year for me, and without your contributions I'd have needed to spend my time on paid freelance work instead of continuing working on this weird shit I love <3. I hope you enjoy the works when they are done ^^.
As for Decembers rewards; I'll be trying to finish my write ups before I sleep tonight. After that I have one WIP video to make, and set the reward scene file up. Everything should be sent out on the weekend now.

He would say if he sent them out in another post if he did. He may send them out tonight (since he stated he would send them this weekend) or he may postpone the time he'll send the rewards again.

Where I live VAT is 25% so it is even worse.

It's important to mention that this comes on top of VAT as well, so for someone in the EU like me, for a $1 pledge I have to pay 20% VAT, plus the $0.38 plus the 2.9%, so I end up paying ~$1.61 for a pledge of $1

If this is a patreon level change for fees Im hearing about in the comments, its no biggie to me. You do awesome work and Im happy to continue contributing to more. Now....about a continuation to the pokemon growth.... :P

I certainly need to do some more digging once I get the time as well. Depending on how you use patreon, this seems to either be blown out of proportion, or a big deal.

yes sorry, I probably should have outlined that lol. From what I understand, it will be 35 cents per pledge, plus a ~3% fee. So people on a $25 tier would be paying ~$25.45, which doesn't sound like a huge deal. But a $1 pledge would cost $1.38. So for patreons which pledge a little to a lot, thats a big deal. Plus being charged more than what you plegded is bound to leave a bitter taste in anyone's mouth.

I'm not even I 100% understand how huge of a price jump this is. And are you talking about the email we all got from patreon saying we're gonna be getting charged 35 more cents a month per person we support?

From what I've heard from another patreon content creator, this is not necessarily a bad thing, it's just some people blowing it way out of proportion. I wager this small fee being charged is being added as a way for the runners of Patreon to provide a better service. I'm not 100% on details, but looking into it more may be a good idea. I'm going to be doing some more digging after work.
