EARLY ACCESS // seafoam studies
🕑 Added 2022-04-20 08:22:19 +0000 UTCI saw some gorgeous seafoam/wave sketches by Henry Wong and was inspired to do some studies as well. I just love how he captures the volumes and color variation, itโs really inspiring! So thatโs what I tried to do here, I don't know if I succeeded but it was definitely a fun study to do. I also posted a little snippet of the process over on twitter.

yep! so many layers to keep in mind!!

that is honestly something I felt as well! while painting, i really had to steer it away from realism to keep the stylized look, and it's still less stylized than I wanted it to be :')

Itโs fascinating how you are able to make painting water look so easy when itโs absolutely not ๐ I thought painting realistically was hard, but stylizing is even harder it seems ๐
