Happy belated New Years! It's been a while since I checked patreon again. The start of December till now I had a rough time. I started to have epileptic seizures out of nowhere and my mother revealed that she wasted all my money I saved up for my Abroad Semester that should have been starting in March... My current mini job also can't keep me on due to missing buget and overall everything got so expensive I won't be able to join the flame tier anytime soon... January got very rough too, I broke contact with my father and I feel all this mental stress made me absolute loose sight of my artistic goals and I got huge art blocks through that too. I had so many ideas before December hit but atm I just try to extinguish all the fires in my life.... I will print these worksheets and I hope I get a better perspective soon. And maybe finally some more luck in life. Thanks Loish!

thank you! it is a bit depressing to be sick in the first week of the year. it's usually when i feel super motivated to get started on my goals, haha! but now i'm back in action.

yes, that's a thing called the 'productivity trap' - the more you plan and schedule all these goals, the more tasks you draw towards yourself, and in the end that golden ticket of being "done" with your work is always being delayed. that's why it's important to realize that there are limitations to what you can achieve and be more realistic about the time you can put in! as for the discord link, unfortunately a link wouldn't work. You have to be added by the patreon bot. you have to connect your discord account to your patreon account in order to be added! let me know if you have any issues joining!

I think that directional change/decision is a good thing. The more you try to be like everyone else or the more you try to be photorealistic, the more it will become similiar and you might lose yourself a little bit by going that way. It is interesting to hear that approach about goals. I might have still problems with quantifiable goals. I have a lot of other things going on so its diff atm. Unexpected that you also mention that kind of "over-goaling". Some people tend to try to be extra effective and work on goal list, rankings, schedules and even more and then all of a sudden you don't get to do the things you've planned. Stricking a good balance here is important, in my opinion, because if the goals become the main thing then you're already of the track. "I had to create it like that for the book" sounds strange from a consumer perspective (or me when I was younger). Like I would expected to buy a book of your (personal) art. But when you beome a producer or head of your own business the view kind of shifts and then there all these guidelines and barriers in your head. And everything has to fit and be perfect and so on. Good luck with all the changes and challenges. Concerning discord: Maybe it is just me but I do not seem to find it on patreon and I do not see it on loish.net. So maybe that could be made more visible. There are these "discord benefits" icons but the do not link anywhere. Was there a post with the link? I'm not finding it right now... So basically: An invitation link where it is easy to see. Best wishes and good health!

I am so glad you are feeling better. Getting sick is always nasty but I find it especially depressing around the holidays.
