🕑 Added 2025-01-26 20:29:51 +0000 UTCHere's the first Q&A session of the year! I'm so excited because I finally got my new setup up and running. There are still some minor technical issues to smooth out but I feel this is a huge upgrade from the webcam I was using before!
Some of the topics discussed in this session were:
Finding art and pose reference in a time where everything seems polluted by AI
Improving anatomy and pose drawing skills in a short amount of time
Whether choosing art is a worthwhile career path during a time when it feels like the world is on fire and we should be doing more to help

I really enjoy listening to these Q&A sessions. They're like my monthly, mini therapy sessions reminding me that i'm not alone in the way I feel about my art...so I'm not crazy! 🙃 So much good advice, too. Thanks for doing these! 💕

Random thing I heard recently: Young people are now flexing on not having social media apps, no social media accounts, leaving their phones at home, etc. (pretty sure it's bc of the political dumpster fire that's happening in the world right now) You didn't ask for this fact, but it felt like something you might want to be aware of than not.

Hi Loish Just listening this Q&A in the bg (like a podcast). There was a point where you were asking about an alternative to google excel. Last year I discovered LibreOffice (https://www.libreoffice.org/). It's more like a free version of MicrosoftOffice. Haven't used it as much, but I think there's potential. Maybe take a look and see if it's something you like. Take care!

it's PAINFUL to wait so long for each episode! but on the other hand i get to ruminate on every small detail, something i'd miss if i was binging!

Thank you for this session! It was very informative and for me especially the part on style. I always tell myself that my drawings look too much like the artists I like and follow and I rack my brains to "change my way of drawing" so as not to be accused of copying. You are so generous in your advice and understanding that it is very motivating and comforting. Your benevolent vision of things on art and the practice of art is very guilt-free. The key point for me is to add personal touches and practice as much as possible to finally be comfortable and "have a personal style". Thank you again ✨
