EARLY ACCESS // aches

I've talked about my repetitive strain injuries before, where my elbow and wrist ached from drawing - something I've managed to overcome with time, but it was a problem for years. I've also had a lot of injuries from running in my knees, ankles, hips - the list goes on. I think my tendons are just a weak point for me and something I'll always struggle with to some extent.
For these drawings, I wanted to capture that feeling of being overly aware of what's happening under my skin and the connections between different parts of my body. I was inspired by those corny commercials for pain meds where the source of pain is portrayed as a red glow - you know the ones! It was definitely a fun exercise and made me realize that I almost never draw bones, tendons or underlying parts of the human anatomy. Might be fun to do more of in the future! For now, hope you like these ✨ also, be kind to your tendons!!

definitely! i found that so difficult to believe, that healing was possible. but it did happen! it's just a really long process of trail and error and non-linear healing - it can be a lot but you will get there.

yeah, it's all about blood flow. apparently tendons are difficult because they don't naturally receive a lot of blood flow, which means that it's harder for them to heal when there's an injury. that's definitely been my struggle - getting them to fully heal!

These joint pains never go away. I keep having those nightmares whenever I sit down on the chair and sleep on the bed/sofa all day. I realize my body needs to do something to get the blood flowing through the veins and arteries so the joints receive suffi

The colors are absolutely gorgeous! I'm happy you're not suffering from RSI anymore, gives me hope I can be free from these issues myself one day.
