Visibility of nude parts in CAS
🕑 Added 2025-03-03 05:16:12 +0000 UTCHello everyone! Recently, I have been presented with the suggestion to remove, from the nude parts, his images in their thumbnails. This way, only the name of the item would be visible in CAS and all apparent nudity would be removed from the catalog.
The other alternative, which has been suggested before, is to hide the models entirely from CAS, to select them only with the Body Selector.
Since either option might not be to the liking of some, I thought it would be appropriate to conduct a survey on the matter.
The poll will finish in two weeks, and depending on the result. All the mods will be modified or keep as they are.

Edge of voting time cause busy but yeah - keep it as is cause sometimes I want to see how it looks on a sim, cause sometimes the round breast option or even the HQ option don't look quite right on a sim, or aren't really the look I'm going for but won't know till I see it, same with the other body options - sometimes I don't know till I see it 'no, that's not right for the sim I'm making' in CAS so I know what to choose in game. If I had to cycle through body selector and preview it in game it'd be a chore. If there are people that seriously want a 'safe for work' CAS option cause I guess they stream and want to leave the mods in, make a 'SFW CAS' option for them that they can download to use and the rest of us can still preview it.

yep! i loaded the originals into the sims4studio mods folder, then cas->override, and made an override file for each one with ! at the beginning of the file name so that they loaded before the originals. for each file, i went to the warehouse tab and used the search to find and uncheck both "showincasdemo" and "showinUI". then i just dropped the new files into my mods folder! it's really very easy, just tedious. it didn't cause any issues with the parts showing in the WW body selector. i did it this way because i do sometimes like to be able to see the parts in CAS but find they clutter it up too much on the regular (esp because i often use the randomize button), so it's nice to just be able to remove my override and ensure that the actual parts don't disappear from my sims

Yes, that is possible. I can make a version visible in CAS, and other, hidden.

Weirdly enough I never thought about using CAS to preview what I want to select before I do because I usually select the same one lol but that's genius. I do understand not wanting to see it in CAS if you have a lot of CC and are only looking for clothing (I spend way too much time in CAS creating outfits). With that said....if there is a way to make it an optional package that you can take out and put back in for example if you have a new sim you're selecting for then that would be great but if not then it's no big deal. I don't mind either way!

If you remove them from CAS entirely I won't be able to set outfits that match their body parts in game. I might as well remove them from game in that case. I get that people want a SFW option but this isn't a SFW mod. Maybe the thumbnails could have stars over the nips or something.

CAS doesn't preview WW Body Selector parts, so it's necessary to have them in CAS to preview nude body sizing without blind guessing.

at one point i actually made a cas hider myself for your wwitw meshes - i created an override for each mesh that had “show in cas” disabled and merged the file into one cas hider

could you include an optional cas hider package? i know a few creators do this & it’s nice to be able to take it in or out of my mods folder when i choose

Yeah, I wear glasses and detailed thumbnails catches my eye quicker than just text. I would really dislike just text thumbnails.

I kinda need the CAS meshes to check the outcome of combining them with other overlays or accessories. So the second is no option. I don't understand the issue anyway...just keep as is.

I don't really understand the difference between each choice. From what I understand, there would be people who would be "shocked" to see naked bodies in the list of items in CAS but not to see them naked in game? If that's not it, then I don't understand the problem. I have no problem with naked images in CAS. It's no more shocking than the calendar above my desk with naked women. For my part, I use these naked bodies in CAS (whether it's the torso or the penis) when I want to create an outfit showing a naked body without it actually being naked in game. For example, a sports outfit with a bare torso, or a sleep outfit with the penis exposed. And seeing what it will look like in the list of items allows me to scroll through them more quickly and choose the one that will fit best.

It's hard to create a sim and someone walks by seeing nudes parts 😂 I prefer the family friendly hidden version.

I can change the order un CAS of the different type of meshes, but, as other content may share the same order of each type of group, it is possible that they will end up separated or more disorganized.

Players obviously want to preview the selection before committing to it. But at the same time I understand being mindful if you are not alone. I wonder if there is a way to create a spoiler type button so you can preview the thumb if the situation permits.

I would prefer if the nude parts weren't in CAS at all. I'm not always alone when I play with this mod, and it's a pain trying to navigate cas while avoiding those thumbnails (and I just want to see them in cas when scrolling generally). (I know many would say just play alone, but I don't have a laptop to do so... 😂)

Omg….NO! I want things to be the way it was originally! I want to be able to preview in CAS BEFORE I choose what they look like on my sims! Having to scroll over hundreds of choices before committing to choosing it on my sims is a pain in the ass! Only make it availabe in body selector is also same! We still can’t preview it and have to scroll hundreds of them! This is a 18+ mods! People need in advance have to be aware what kind of mods this is and therefore able to use it based on their situation!
