I loved that they didn't make Hayden's character a mean girl! That was always such a surprise to me because I expected it when I first watched this. This movie was one of my favorite Disney movies growing up.

unfortunately i know so many parents irl who are just like Casey’s mom. living through their kids and have their life planned out before they’re even old enough to think for themselves. Going against that plan for something you actually love is a metaphorical slap in the face and a guilt trip waiting to happen every time.
