Cos it's quite derogatory in the rest of the world and hurts lgbtq people: just an example of how words are important - a lot of guys reject me because they say "oh I'm not gay" and being a trans person, it hurts because you don't see me as a woman

Why not? I think it fits for who the characters are now, and sets them up for the changes they'll go through throughout this adventure.

"Another panties plus this gay shorts" doesnt roll off the tongue too well. Id recommend the dialogue as follows: Blonde: "Panties and those shorts looks kinda gay" Redhead: "Do they really make me look gay?" B: "I mean... Getting fucked is pretty gay..."
