A lot of women chose the surgery simply because it runs in their family. So If u have stage 0 it would make sense if some women wanted it. It's common

with DCIS there is a higher chance of getting invasive cancer if you just leave it alone. i had it and chose lumpectomy and ended up getting cancer in my opposite breast so i just had them both removed
