[Weekly Development Update #45]
🕑 Added 2024-11-01 23:57:08 +0000 UTCNew dev update, figured I'd drop one this week. Just a quick note, Marnie is 50% Japanese and 50% British (for those who didn't know).
So let's get straight to the point. As you can see (and it's pretty obvious now), Marnie looks completely different from her original model. When I first re-made Godson, my focus was not Marnie whatsoever. That's because before I remade it, everyone seemed to be into thin super-models back in 2020-ish. I didn't know what happened from then to now, but it seems that has changed quite a bit. I'm personally into more thicc-er women, but everytime I tried to add one into the games I made, it was a problem. Then I remake Godson, trying to make sure Jennifer looks perfect, and then when I release it everyone is infatuated with Marnie. The old Marnie from the OG Godson is super thin, no ass, and barley any t*ts. That's how people liked it back then for some reason, so that's what I ran with. That's why she's so thin in that game.
To clarify, I could say it's because people's opinions changed, but that'd be a lie. The real reason is quite clear, it's the character design. This comes from years of working with 3D programs, but at this point, I can sculpt literally anyone in a realistic way. I didn't realize myself how much my sculpting skills have improved in the past 4 years (and my skin shading), but it really does show - and you guys love it so thank you!
Anyway, so since the response, I was like okay, since I can actually make what I want now, I need to update Marnie so she looks exactly how I want since people like the thickness. If you guys want me to be honest, when v0.1 of the remake dropped, that first sex scene with Marnie was gonna be it, and then no more with her. The focus of the game was going to be Jennifer, Victoria, etc. Don't believe me? Look at the Godson logo, that's Jennifer. I didn't plan this game to be so Marnie-focused. I obviously prefer it, because that's what I'm into, THICCNESS. But, like I said, I didn't think the thickness would hit because of what I was seeing at the time of the games people were playing. I can like whatever I want, but I'm not in the business of going into something I'm trying to be successful in, knowing I'm gonna fail. What's the point of doing that? This is a lot of work lol.
Why I'm Even Telling You This
I'm telling you this because (and I'm already halfway through it), the beginning of the game, up until Marnie goes to work, is getting a makeover, and a slight script change. Not a complete remake, but the new Marnie model is going to replace the old one. Also, all the animations are getting remade to be up to par to what we're doing now. I was planning on just making her model change a story plot, but I can tell because I had to change up who the main LI of the game is, things, story-wise, are starting to go out-of-wack per say. I'm not trying to make this game some crazy wacky story, with hott sex scenes. I'm trying to make it have a great, very interesting story, with hott sex scenes. I'm not trying to make some weird "go back in time because of x person.." whatever, so I can justify her change. That's too much man.
So here's what will all be in v0.2:
The Entire Party Update, first and foremost. Featuring tons of new scenes and animations, and...
All prior scenes with Marnie in them (excluding the pizza update, that's on ice for now) will be updated to the new Marnie model.
All animations up to this point (not pizza), including the ones with Lorraine, will be animated by our new animator so that all the sex scenes in the game are fun, realistic, and detailed (like the Marnie at work ones are).
1 new, NON-NTR AND CHOSEN BY THE PLAYER, animation when Marnie answers the door nude to the pizza guy (ass clapping animation).
Marnie will now be still married to her ex-husband when you start the game. NOT NTR, she's going through the divorce proceedings. But she will still be married and wearing her wedding ring (you will be able to take it off her eventually and throw it in the trash). He'll be at the house, living there, sleeping in Marnie's bed right next to her. He's going to leave the next morning, and you'll see him again at the party, just coming by to pick up the last of his things. This means when Marnie sends you those pictures in bed nude now on the first night, you'll see her ex-husband sleeping in the background. To the very-few people who will complain about "morals": You literally made Marnie your girlfriend, then 5 minutes later turned right around and banged her sister. You're a degenerate, just like the rest of us. Welcome, lol.
There will no longer be an option for Marnie to "skip" the party (due to popular vote). It's either you go to work with her, or you convince her not to go to work and stay for the party.
Marnie's last name is now Suzuki. Never made sense to be Taylor. How she got the moms last name, but her Dad is Japanese? (and never got divorced to her mother).
And that's it. As I said, I'm already halfway through fixing the beginning of the game, so my side was pretty easy. The animator has some work ahead of him, but he's fast, and works hard. Rest assured, v0.2 is going to be pretty massive. I got a lot of work to do, but I am confident you will all be surprised by the quality of the game, as you are now.
I'm not giving a time-frame for when it will be released until I actually know for sure. No more delays, no more "part 1 or 2s". When I say a date, it's dropping on that date, period. Until then, just know I'm cooking, and I'll always keep you updated on the progress here in the weekly dev updates. I'll start the progress tracker in the next dev update next week.

Really disappointed to hear we’re going to make a remake of scenes instead of adding new content. why do devs always have to do this? also don’t like the new marnie in the last few updates. way too pale and young looking imo. don’t like the skin shaders. just my opinion, i love this guy but it needs more content not remakes.
