I think implementation of VR is beneficial for the game, even in this basic form. The whole thing is isolated for one use case and should not affect further development.

does this game need VR? expanding platforms is a good thing, but the dispersion of forces is not very

Yeah for sure I agree. The added work quantity is alot more then I thought... Thank you again for giving it a shot. It was an interesting concept design. :)

The implementation of VR here is basically ability to view the game through headset instead of monitor, and use keyboard and mouse for interaction. VR controllers are not supported because I don't think it's feasible to make adequate control scheme for this game. I tried using headset in Wild Life for example, they made similar camera setup. To me it was dizzying at first, but I got used to it pretty quick and I thought it is viable solution for 3rd person game. I don't think I can make full VR support, because it seems like making 2 games at ones.

I decided not to go too far in the game. I will try again tomorrow. But felts like the quest2 controllers don't do much. So glad to know you have a VR set.. I thought you were enabling stuff blindly hehe... Can you maybe give me idea of how your rift works.. like controller assignments.. It may be useful I was unable to walk or do anything. Except basically use the headset to get a good view of character up close and the world in 3d space. Basically using just the headset and looking around while using the keyboard.. It seems the way viewing the character while walking around was a bit disorienting so I didn't proceed further. It almost seemed walking forward was ok, but turning or walking back the camera direction threw me and made me feel dizzy haha I think for VR.. need to be behind the character always. Or inside the character (1st / 3rd person I forget the references meaning) and head direction where you look should move character in direction even when just press forward. I think the quest2 with steamvr must need additional setting up like assignments. (I think I can customise that, from what I know steam overtime gets some custom profiles users create, so for quest2 I think there is options to assign keys etc) I have not dived so deep into this. Must say tho.. the quest2 and wireless portable works like a charm. It's pretty unbelievable how well this works.. Will fill you in, tomorrow.. it's late here in Australia

Thanks for testing! Did scenes and UI work for you?

Hi ArcaneSpoon I gave it a little play. In VR mode I was able to see the main Player Character in VR. I can look around the world you created (the beautiful library) Proof of concept works I guess hehe As this is just a first time experimental release for vR. Didn't expect much. I use a quest 2 and as soon as I enable VR in menu it worked, switched to VR But everything was upside down. Having to use the mouse to bring the orientation back to normal / plus press L to help centre my view. The character you created seeing her face to face was an experience.. she looks good man! Like really good. Thank you for giving this a go! Don't stress on this it looks like alot of work to hook things to work properly in VR.. Obviously if you have time.. go for it.. but thanks again for having a go. Big fan! Thanks again
