FIDDLESTICKS. I WAS THIS CLOSE TO THE BIG REVEAL AND I GOT THE READING BURNOUT…. 😭😭😭 If only I read one more chapter, the secrets could’ve been mine, but I had interpreted the last chapter as another failure and decided to wait a bit before reading again… I got so busy in the Winter that it’s taken quite a while to come back. Oh well. The good stuff lies agreed I’m sure of it. The individual M&Ms of chapters I’ve been saving are now ready for consumption. More metaphors. It is what it is I suppose.

RedEyeLordofFire

We don't know that the Ominian retaining all their anchors would prevent their death. It seems likely that the anchors just delay their death. It's possible that if the Ominian didn't send out any anchors, their death was inevitable and would always result in the destruction of Enteria

Armo

I wonder what Carkavakom has against Miriam. Didn’t he help her once, with the priest?

Sun

Another mention of the Unmoored in the story (Chapter 106), for those interested: "The bishop spoke passionately as she continued to survey the room. “…many say, why worship Carkavakom? Are not destruction and fear things to be hated, to be avoided? Here, the Fourth Prophet’s words help us clarify our interpretation of the worship of such a God. He writes, ‘I have seen Carkavakom, and I have seen his jawless Unmoored. In their speechless voice, they spoke to me, and thus, I understood Carkavakom’s reason. A law must be enforced, or it is meaningless. Is it not law that holds our society together? What must be done to those who break it with impunity?’”

I read it more as the entropic field and the new moon was a consequence of the Triarchy trying to resurrect the Ominian. I can't picture the Mausoleum being in the middle of a city if they are constantly blasting out radiation and null magic. I think the necromancy somehow brought out the wound from the time tree mess somehow.

sparkc

This reminds me of the mid point of the story. I feel like for a while now there has not been any game changing discoveries or ominous tidings, more of a checklist completion. This chapter felt like a return to form!

Colton

Love the SpongeBob reference lol. Here's a Futurama one. "You know I was God once. Yes, you were doing well until everyone died"

Atlas Dwarf

Less 'who did it' and more 'alright Mirian what the fuck did you do this time?' Like the only other prophets who have actually changed the cycle time are Zhuan and...Troytin. The former with helping locate a gate and the latter for helping destroy/stop the destruction of the Torrviol gate.

FuriousDee

In about half a month it seems

Alexander Dupree

is a particle just what we call a small enough fragment of a field MIRIAM NO DON’T GO DOWN THE QUANTUM PHYSICS PATH ITS JUST A BLACK HOLE OF SUFFERING

BlastYoBoots

“IF YOU’RE RELYING ON SOMETHING STAYING A SECRET TO PREVENT A PROBLEM, YOU’RE JUST DELAYING THE PROBLEM.” A perfect multilayered warning, especially about the Relicarium. And the spell to knock others out of the loop she has. Too bad they seem to already know she won’t heed the warning, and thus the consequences shall unfold…

Erebus

Thanks for the chapter 🙂

Erebus

How early did the moon fall?

Zhaslan

Very likely some of the prophets dream and saw her devices or blood on stone.

Josiah

So the moon only falls because the Ominian "dies". And the Ominian only dies right then because they sent all their anchors out. This just reaffirms the idea that they still haven't actually seen the real threat to Enteria which is the reason the Ominian sent the anchors out in the first place. I'm still saying it's literal fire burning all the fields of time echoing from the gods' war that may not have even started yet in linear time. Eyeball even said, "you'll find out soon," about the burning fields.

Ethereal Sky Daddy

I don’t think their warning was about Mirian specifically or the actions she’s taking. If anything based on what they are saying and how they say it. It seems a lot more likely that they are intentionally pushing her towards this set of actions. Eyeball and Conductor experience time differently. If it was an issue for them then they probably would have conversational options to get her down a different path on the tree of time.

Clara

She needs it as a mythril stockpile for her armor. But she's gonna put a lot more into the armor, including iirc a conduit that should let her survive going down into the labyrinth, reaching a leyline, and touching it to funnel off the magic. So she still has a bunch to assemble, and she probably needs to get everything else ready first before she visits the moon

Aesoir

Hmmm, wasn’t one of the reasons she wanted up there was to get the staff/mithral? But there was no mention of binding it with relicarium? I understand not caring about the staff if it was just for research… did I miss something?

Gopard

I wonder if especially the ones from the LABYRINTH can be used and brought up to the mausoleum? obviously taking them out of the Prophets is a huge decision that could easily backfire if it turns out they do need as much looping manpower as possible... but maybe needles such as the one her Dad uses can help heal or at least like be a temporary (lol) fix during the Timeloop to buy more time or something?

Gopard

yes agreed. So essentially the moon falling is only a side effect to the "ominian Dying" which also potentially makes more sense then why they actually created the Timeloop... I mean sure they like the world but they literally build the planet I bet you they could make another one or just go take Earth from the remaining "visTerrians" where we're maybe waiting for reports from the colonists or something lol. basically the easiest thing to do would obviously be just to make an enormous healing potion and shoot it at the Divir Moon with an enormous Catapult to heal them and thus stop the apocalypse. I really wonder why they haven't decided on the obvious solution?

Gopard

I'm still not convinced her crafting this. armor will actually change anything... I wouldn't be that surprised if this doesn't end up happening and the prophets end up all coming together once Relicarium is revealed to pool ALL their knowledge and that of their allies to truly find the best use of it, not just what Miriam from her obviously limited selfish perspective thinks... I find it telling how she interpreted Eyeballs and Conductor's fairly clear warnings to HER as basically just "keep the others of Divir" like she was some infallible being that couldn't potentially make things much worse just as everyone else could...

Gopard

Yes I agree she has become immune to seeing her own flaws seeing her approach as the "rational and good one" and this everyone else are the "problems" to be "worked around" honestly I wonder what the fuck she was thinking here? I mean how will she try to hide from the other prophets that the Moon fell after just 2 weeks so that SOMETHING HUGE had obviously changed?

Enthernal

Very interesting. I wonder how much of the Omnian's state came from the Triachs trying to resurrect him. After all, there's plenty of indication the antimagic field wasn't there when the mausoleum was still on enternia. It being sent up into space also wasn't in their plans, so it seems it either backfired spectacularly, or it succeeded only paritially causing this stand off.

Mr NerfGun

Unless she can make a temporal anchor function like a cthonic needle, she won't be able to bring her father into the loop.

D Key

Next prophet meeting: "guys, who dropped the moon on us ffs?"

Anonymous

I wonder if a chthonic needles can be repurposed to help the Ominian.

Gernot Bahle

What a chapter :) Aside from all the interesting things already pointed out I quite liked the reference to quantum field theory and particles being field excitations 😃 Also, very interesting that another god war is possible. This seems to imply that there‘s at least two gods left alive in a state where they can take actions. Or, even more intriguing, the mention of „ascended“ gods. The new war might not come from the old gods but from newly ascended ones. In any case, I loved this chapter ❤️ Also still hoping she can bring her father and Jei into the loop somehow :)

Robert Mullins

I like this implies that the Triarchy' solution to ominian's deadly aura and overall condition was quite literally "Why don't we take the ominian's temple, and push it somewhere else."

Robert Mullins

The whole thing about the ominian's aura interaction with the anti magic field and the anchors sustaining their health also explains why returning an anchor increased the timeline by 3 days when she removed Sulvorath.

Robert Mullins

Mirian definitely has a blindspot when it comes to herself. Eyeball and Conductor were making it very clear that 'She' could end up doing a lot of damage but she was reading it only as others doing the damage.

tentacles4all

So the Triarchy basicaly put the wounded Ominian inside an entropic field and sent him to space until some greater civilization in the future would be able to cure him? And I bet they got the idea from the cryostasis of the early human colonizers.

HJSecond

It's going to be obvious to the other prophets that something has changed with the cycle shortening so much. Hopefully she can get what she needs from Divir to craft the armor and bind it before the others investigate.

Clara

Ah, eto.... Bleh!

Nasrak Ragnarok

The end coming early ensures that there’s no way she can pretend nothing happened. I wonder if the other Prophets will ask or if they’ll just try to figure it out themselves to hide that they know.
