Will Sargent

i think that part of the reason that running into her relatives is so convenient is also why we are seeing the glassjawed one. The referee is trying to determine if this is a fair move or if someone stacked the deck.

Mundane

"fill this doomed timeline with as much kindness as you can" This should become her official doctrine, when a timeline is doomed she sends word to her supporters to stop what they were doing and spread as much kindness as they can. Yes it is just as meaningless as the deaths but as Grampa Irabi said you become what you practice so ensuring each timeline ends in more kindness seems like a worthy goal. <3

TO THE MOOONNN

A.Irsigler

Mirian was warned not to restart the transcended wars(?) or something like that by Conductor. It seemed like a warning about one possible future Mirian could walk down towards. It would probably involve temporal spells and weapons or entropic forces unleashed on a scale that would scour worlds clean. Mirian those last two chapters stood at a precipice: She lashed out, used the tools of tyranny to get her way. (Violence, intimidation, cruelty, horror etc) And this chapter she reflected on what she had done, what she must do, the morality, the justifications, the conundrums etc. Maybe she decided to use her fathers army of undead (aint that a chekovs guns, eh) to enforce her ways like a tyrant? A Way pathed with good intentions of course; to save the Zayds of the world... Whatever decision she ultimately lands on, which way forward she wants to go - her single handily razing a city is probably not that a good look for an Unmoored Timetraveler to witness. No wonder he was wary of her this chapter.

Mr NerfGun

If I understand it right, the Unmoored she saw in this chapter saw her earlier in his timeline than the apparitions she herself saw earlier? And that is why he is wary of her? Because he knows her less?

Mr NerfGun

Maybe, they fear Mirian would flee Entaria?

Evil Legend

Honestly, this was a really good conclusion to the whole “divine wrath unleashed upon the Palendurio authorities” event. At the same time, though, I really wanted one more dream scene with Gabriel — as a contrast to the earlier one where she was complaining to him about how awful the people she has to work with are. Just imagining Gabriel’s reaction to Mirian completely snapping is hilarious, purely because of how stark the contrast is between an ordinary observer’s view of the event and Gabriel’s understanding of why it happened. From his perspective, the fact that Barakuel’s politicians managed to get under Mirian’s skin badly enough that she literally blew them all up is… honestly kind of impressive.

Armo

Hm. I wonder why the Carkavakom guy is wary. Mirian can feel that he is powerful. Perhaps he saw Mirian’s outburst in Palendurio and realised that she is more powerful than he expected. And more importantly, why is he trying to prevent Mirian from doing what she’s doing? And what’s on Luamin? Only thing we know is on Luamin for sure is a long range gate. Maybe that is what he does not want Mirian to find.

lenkite

Well, I guess the plan to get Baracuel moving on a planet-save mission has been deferred for now. It isn't really possible to move a [Corrupt Republic] without a LOT of violence. Kindness won't touch the leadership who killed, mind-controlled and took hostages. Maybe she should figure out how to build a factory just by herself in a few months.

Touch

Hope she realizes that she couldn’t help everyone, but she could help everyone as much as possible

Gopard

I mean... I think y'all are overestimating how "difficult" something like this would be... Not to be too pedantic but these kinds of revolutions with "minimal bloodshed" have been done MANY times in REAL WORD circumstances... The pretty severe "absolute control of the state" philosophy modern "capitalist, liberal democracy" puts forth to indoctrinate people into "the state and country is democratic it's already good and thus should never be attacked by me as a normal guy"... This has messed massively with people's brains. No if Mirian and Zhuan used the time loop? never mind her infinite personal power success would practically be guaranteed... The problem is as always navigating conflict with the other prophets...

Gopard

just make home God emperor of everything and Divir will probably just INTENTIONALLY swerve out of the way of Enteria honestly... because who the fuck would HIT THAT MAN? Really I been an AU where Mirian finds a way to give him godhood and he just... goes around talking to everyone and in the next cycle everything is solved Lmaooo!!!!

Avery Aderyn

That was so good. Grandpa Irabi chapters have always been fantastic, but this one takes the cake. Also, when I finished the chapter I immediately shouted "to the moon!"

Atlas Dwarf

Even if there is nothing on Luamin, we might just get to see if something happens after Divir falls.

Thransk

The true hero is Irabi, always has been

AntiClimax she her

Yesterday's chapter was cathartic, not just because of Mirian finally releasing the pent up emotions from her past as a child hostage, but for me as well. The systemic issues she's facing are very reminiscent of real world problems that have made me feel like turning into a final fantasy villain might be the best outcome for the world. She almost became that, but was confronted with some pretty dire consequences for that route. If only I had unfathomable power and a reset point to get those feelings out of my system. *sigh*

Mr NerfGun

Not the first time he showed up outside the dreams. Maybe the fourth time?

BlastYoBoots

Interestingly, the nature of Irabi’s talk fitting with the chapter title (Void) makes me think of Homestuck’s Aspect framework and theoretical fan-concluded partial definitions like the divestment of agency and importance. (Which is too obscure and theoretical to be a Homestuck spoiler, but don’t look it up if you want to go in on that webcomic blind someday.) The mention of the shared terminology “doomed timelines” also helps me think of Homestuck. Then again, when has anything NOT made me think of Homestuck…

chumponimys

“But… where are you going?” /Elton John's "Rocket Man" begins playing in the background/ Mirian checked her time tables one last time. Checked her calculations...

BlastYoBoots

She’s getting in touch with her humanity again… finally!!! Maybe she’ll even help Ibrahim in time, but it’s hard to say. I like how Grandpa’s solution might work. If a movement of kindness led by a gentle prophet gains the means to protect itself through an uprising, to become unstoppably immune to conventional suppression by their governments, perhaps those tyrannical governments can be disarmed— not without bloodshed, but with some semblance of a minimum. And enough of the resulting believers may have every generous incentive to repay their Prophet that the massive building project actually becomes possible. It would be incredibly difficult to pull off this societal transformation, but perhaps Miriam’s ability to talk to people’s souls can be enhanced by what she finds so she could do so on larger scales, communicate the danger they’re fighting against and win them over with her empathy and vision of a brighter future.

YarrowFlowers

is this the first time that the stalkercyborg has shown up outside the dream? I still hold that a directed strike against a military target followed by her general intimidation techniques will get the best results for the duration of the loop. I’m hoping that Luamin has something on it that can give another out though.

Alobomb

God, recent chapters have been incredible. Huge fan of the where the story is going and the things Mirian has been grappling with. It really speaks to the real-life frustration with the existing systems of power for me. It's super interesting to me that Mirian feels that same frustration without really having an ideology underpinning yet it the way Zhuan does. I wonder how many people there are that feel the same way, both in the story and in real life, but without the kind of power Mirian has they suppress or ignore those feelings.

Nasrak Ragnarok

Thanks for the chapter.
