Stands can age because of their user. They're basically the user's mental energy. A child will have relatively weak mental energy, so the Stand's form will reflect that. Even though it's still strong enough to maintain a stand, unlike with Holly who is being consumed by hers.... which, I guess is a little weird, but yeah. And because they're a manifestation of the user's mental energy, the user can use their mind to shrink it also like in the episode with the Lovers, when Silver Chariot and Heirophant Green went inside Joseph to save him. It's all in the mind.

The next episode if by far my one of my favorites in the entirety of the stardust crusaders. its so much more intense than any other figh because of how darby is. the only episodes i like more are the dio fight and youll find out why soon enough.
