The reason Jojo is as legendary as it is BECAUSE of the manga. You owe it to yourself to at least read some of Parts 1-5 on your own. Part 3 in particular is great and looks and feels way different in manga form. It'll also acclimate you to the art style and panelling evolution over time because mid to late era Jojo can be a little difficult to follow on the page if you're not used to it.

would like to see parts 1-4 for the manga since it would flow nicer instead of starting arbitrarily at part 5 or 6 since the manga is probably way different

I would personally prefer you to start at part 6 so we can get through to part 8 sooner, I just dont want to wait until the anime comes out because its just not worth the wait. I wouldnt mind it if you did read it from the start though

Yeah, Zipper Man is probably one of the worst name changes to avoid copyright in JJBA. I understand the copyright issues, and for w/e reason, crunchyroll couldn't get permission to put the band references in the subs. Some of the name changes aren't too bad, some are pretty decent, but some are just.... no. Just no. I mean, they could've just done something like, "Stikky Fingaz" and that would've been just fine, right? Gold Experience to Golden Wind isn't too bad, though I would've gone with "Golden Exp" or something. But what's done is done lol. Sticky Fingers is a Rolling Stones album btw. But I totally agree with you about some musical references being relatively common words/phrases.

Part 5 is here I'm so excited, you are in for a wild ride. Also you might recognise some of the VAs from My Hero Academia, Bruno's VA is Hawks' VA and Aizawa, Midoriya and Bakugo's VAs are all in part 5, I wonder if you'll be able to pick them?

I haven't finished reading part 6, so please no spoilers

When I finished part 5 I went to the part 6 manga, I am interested in watching your reactions from the beginning. There are color versions of the manga of all the Jojo parts. I read part 6 with colors, I don't know if he should read it on color or on the original edition, I don't have any preference, but I though if giving you that option for everyone to decide.

You should start with Part 6 after doing the OVAs.

I myself started reading Stone Ocean shortly after finishing watching Golden Wind. I haven't read it in a while though, manga mobile apps are so unreliable and inconsistent, at least in my experience. I need to get back to it. That said, as far as the anime goes, Part 5 is definitely my fav. Enjoy the insanity and shenanigans that only JJBA can deliver!

I will say this once you watch the Rohan OVAs you start at Part 1 for the manga you think watching the artstyle evolve in the anime was crazy seeing it happen in manga is in a whole different league plus it’s just buying time till the Part 6 Anime
