The fact that you haven't heard about this arc should give you an idea of what is to come in the near future. I always worry that the hype will damage those that binge watch the next ~40 episodes.

Ruff acting all surprised I mean is it really that uncommon for a Shonen series to do a mini side ark dealing with human trafficking and racism. We all remember when Naruto and Bleach went covered the same topic. The fact that One Piece can jump from goofy horror to a human trafficking ark is a testament to how good Oda’s writing is.

The Lougetown thing isn't a R/L issue, it's meant to be 'Logue' as in "Prologue" and 'epilogue'. It's the place where the story of the King of the Pirates began and ended, and the place where what is essentially the prologue to the Straw Hats journey in the Grand Line ended.

Truly the most satisfying punch in all of anime and/or manga. And Ruff idk if you heard this or saw previous comments but for the way Sabaody is pronounced it's actually said differently in Japanese compared to English cuz in Japanese the word for bubble is "shabon" so in Japanese it's pronounced "Shabondy" instead of Sabaody like how it's spelled as a reference to all the bubbles on the Archipelago. That doesnt work in english so the official english pronunciation is "Sa-bow-dee"

Ruff you are severely overestimating the theoretical bounties of the strawhats, man. It's like you assume the only crew that they shaft out of bounties for their activities is the Strawhats alone. No, man, the marines do this for everyone! That means it's 100% possible Captain Kid just did some crazy shit that even Luffy couldn't do and got no bounty increase for it. The bounty system leaves room for benefit of a doubt when it comes to strength comparison. This means all of the 11 supernova are more or less on par with each other in some way. Also, ain't no way Zoro is worth 400-500k right now lol

It's really weird. One Piece is my favorite story and TV show ever. However, sometimes Overlord slips into my mind, as a thing. A story that's also unique and a series that you should really finish. I guess the first season is like an introduction, like the first hundred episodes of OP. But the second season is more like Sabaody compared in exitement. And also well enough written to have emotional moments, oh how dark it sometimes gets too. Then the third season could be compared to the excitement of episode 900+ and forward in OP. My point is; Overlord really takes steps. Please continue it<3

If you think Oda is going crazy now, Rayleigh first appears in episode 8 and chapter 19 (although he is miscolored in the anime). The memory and story telling ability of this man is beyond human, and his foreshadowing is simply on another level. Also, actually fucking crazy, Arlong Park is modeled very similarly to the auction house. This gets even deeper meaning as the series goes on. Incredible

You see, this is the power of storytelling in One Piece, no crazy fight, no showing off power whatsoever, just a pure storytelling and one freaking satistfying punch is all they need. This is my second favorite arc in the entire show (Yes, there's another that I liked more and it's not Marineford) I just love how thing really escalated so fast and how fucked up can it get in this world not to mention the introductions of a bunch of great characters and the matter subject like slavery, discrimination which Oda has written this more than a decade ago. It's truly is a masterpiece btw your reaction to the whole thing with hachi is gold.

The most impressive thing about sabaody, and why it’s probably Oda’s greatest storytelling achievement, that in just these first 9 episodes he’s pretty much set up the themes and concepts and characters for the entire series going forward, and it is not remotely finished yet, this arc is shorter and less action/straw hat focused than your alabastas or enies lobby’s which may get more immediate mention, but this arc is pretty much as good as fiction writing gets across the board

But it is really good, and impactful and resource rich for what is coming in future arc. And what you had just witnessed is the most satisfying punch in anime history, or in One Piece history in my opinion.
