Im a new patreon subscriber, i really enjoy ur content a whole lot and would love to see more reactions from akame ga kill in the future if possible, it is my no1 fav anime of all time. Not only the ending, the writing is just off but the writer created a really cool world with cool characters and a fun story and I enjoyed it but it feels like the writer tried to franticly make it a "masterpiece" or classic and it just isn't one. Kinda the opposite of evangelion which like accidently became such a great story but had a shit ending because the writer wrote that story for himself and to help with his depression. Also the music in Akam ga kill slaps it carries the anime so hard still have about 4 songs in my playlist. SPOILERRRRRRR Sadly the writer thought killing off everyone and beeing cruel makes up for mediocre writing. Sure killing of characters from the main cast or creating a moment of shock is a really powerfull plot device but he legit just spammed it and thought it makes it a good story. Kinda like Demon Slayer where tanjiro starts crying over every single demon with their basic ass backstories hoping to achieve an emotional moment. Sure people with lower standards that consume lots of trash anime (no offense if u can enjoy it that more anime to watch for u) and can't grasp better writing to the fullest might like that but I (and tons of people ) just hard cringe over it and were extremely dissappointed because the writer tries so hard to make up for their lacking talent of characterization and story telling.

"Akam-eh".... think of it like Akamé instead of Akami. In Japanese, every time you see an 'e' in Romaji it's pronounced like "eh," as if it's a French 'e' with an accent over it. Like Pokémon. (They also say the name in the anime as well for your reference)

AFAIK it has one original source – the manga – but not a light novel. I only know about the manga because there were some fates of characters that didn't feel right for me in the story. So I looked it up and discovered that the anime needed to improvise in the second half and differed from the manga in major ways. Its closure is slightly more optimistic and is seen as the better thing by fans that can compare. Maybe I will check the manga some day...

I agree......the manga is a lot better in my opinion so I get it.....I love Mine..... and I don't consider the anime actual canon, more like an alternative timeline thing so I was never bothered by it. I feel like the people complaining the most are people who haven't even read the manga and either can't handle the darker parts or jumped on the bandwagon. It's still a good dark anime though.

The reception is probably only bad because it differed from the manga. If it were by the book, it’d have been received great. It’s just not a feel-good anime, and it lets you know that from the start. “This [anime] isn’t the place of hopes and dreams that you think”

This show unfortunately gets a lot of hate. It has some quite disappointing aspects, but the fights are cool, story ain't too bad and the characters are really cool and fun too watch. The reception is probably gonna be very mixed, but please do this one anyways.

Aww this is the first anime I recommend to people and then they get hooked. Love this anime. If we can get Vinland and Akame Ga Kill.. that would be amazing

Well I know that it has a LN but after seeing the anime I never wanted to read it I would say it has a sad ending but definitely not a bad I didn't know manga end different btw
