Same here. No matter how many times I re-watch or re-read Marineford, it never fails to get me bawling.

This arc was a nightmare I had to take a 2 month long break from one piece after post marineford arc. Family/ Adoption/ found family is something extremely close to my heart, I can't express how much I relate to Ace. Luffy Ace Garp Dadan WHITEBEARD these dynamic made me sob like a looser. Whitebeard pirates to this day are my favorite crew after straw hats because of how they consider each other a big family. Just like you, I never cry over shows or character deaths but today again I sobbed with you (i also laughed seeing you miserable) regardless Summit war saga is my favorite thing in the history of media.

Personally this arc never affected me as much as enies lobby did (I stopped watching anime around thriller bark and switched to manga at some point during that one) but now that I wanted to rewatch the anime from the beginning and chose to do so through your reactions it's kind of cool to see how different someone can be affected emotionally by the same scenes. Even know it's not coming for some time, there will be another (very sweet) arc in the future that resonated with me on a similar level to enies lobby and I'm excited to see your reaction to that one. So, as someone who is use to getting laughed at everytime I say my favorite anime is One Piece by people who make a point to say "it needs to end", I feel like I never want one piece to end. What would I do with myself after right? Probably just keep rewatching it but really what? I saw these episodes when they first aired and I needed to take a LONG time to recover, ended up rewatching and literally had to skip these episodes and we all know how long ago these episodes came out at. Over the years Ive watched others watch it and literally every time, I'm a bawling mess. I could probably give you a play by play on every scene and spoken line, and it does nothing to stop me from breaking and the anime does it so well. Luffy's VA just nails in that cry and then the sound when Ace drops. A sadistic masterpiece. This isn't something that gets easier later and I think its one of those moments that proves One Piece is top tier and Oda's writing is just on a different level.

Ruff, it warms my heart to see Ace and Shirohige hit you so hard. Family. No more needs to be said.

By the way, The two ost’s that were playing in Ace’s final moments are called “The Individual Fights” and “Maya’s Strong Thoughts”. Although they are sad, they are 2 of the best tracks that aren’t used that much.

I was crying with you, it always gets me. I know it’s coming but I always hope it doesn’t. Ace finally wanted to live, he realised he was loved and deserved to be born, and then he dies protecting his baby brother, who we have witnessed literally going through hell to save him! It hits on so many levels, the shock, luffy’s complete denial as his brother is dying in his arms after Ace saved him! And then the realisation hits for luffy, after all he has done to save Ace, forgetting his crew, breaking into impel down, breaking out and storming and in a way leading a war, it wasn’t enough! He almost died and it wasn’t enough. My heart just breaks for luffy in this moment, as in a way he has lost more of his innocence and you just want to protect him but you can’t! Anyway my rant and thoughts are over…. Thank you for this reaction even though it was hard, it shows how much you love the series and characters, you can get through this!!!

there are people out there who honestly say that shows like Naruto, AoT, Demon Slayer etc.. have better story than OP lmao, i watched all of them and nothing come's even close to the level of Oda's story telling and ability to foreshadow and connect things.

It seems that Oda only said that Akainu's devil fruit belongs to the devil fruits with the highest offensive power (so as in one of this category). This is always the difficulty with translations.

I love some things about the anime. The music, the voice acting, how it gives you more time to take in the characters' reactions and emotions. What I DON'T like, is that they, for some reason, made blackbeard somehow fight back against whitebeard. He DIDN'T in the manga. Whitebeard put him to the ground, Blackbeard cried like a baby, and then the cowardly shooting happened. Also, in the manga whitebeard lost half of his face against akainu. In the anime, he lost half of his MUSTACHE.

Great reaction. Fun fact oda stated akainus devil fruit has the highest offensive power out of any devil fruit. Also I know you’ve said u will give it a re read from the beginning and I highly suggest doing so. It’s nearly just as enjoyable the second time and you pick up on little details and clues that you might have missed the first time around. It helps u gain even more appreciation for the story, details, and lore that’s been set up from the beginning

Ruff don't even worry about being 'entertaining' during highly emotional episodes like 483. Honestly, I can only speak for myself, but the reaction to those videos is sometimes more about having a shared experience of being emotional and vulnerable, and less about being entertained or listening to fun commentary. Not every episode is going to be similar or have similar reactions or a similar structure, and that's okay! Also: I don't even remember how many times I've watched these episodes, it has to be at least 6, and I cry like a baby every time. I'm crying while I type this out! So yeah, you probably will get emotional again if you go watch other react videos, for me it's hard NOT to get emotional over these episodes.

Yep. Every time. Every time without fail. It is impossible for me not to completely breakdown during this. It’s 10 a.m. and I’m gonna go curl up in a corner and sob. 😭😭😭 I can handle almost everything else this series has shown so far. I didn’t flinch for Robin or anything else that was really sad up to this point. I shed some tears for Merry and Whitebeard but didn’t bawl. Ace’s death though… Ace’s death is the most devastating thing for me. I can handle the initial stuff of him getting mortally wounded pretty well. But his final words to Luffy because he knows he isn’t going to make it, particularly when he says he wishes he could stay to see Luffy make his dream, I can’t… My heart breaks for those who cared about him and it shatters for Ace and Luffy. Ace died thinking he didn’t deserve the love everyone gave him because of who he is. And Luffy just lost the brother he loves more than anything in the world. I miss Ace. I miss him so much. 😭😢🤧
