It's kinda crazy how necessary pretty much everything before this is to make Marine Ford hit the way it does. A lot of up and coming writers should take note: continuity should not be burned down for the sake of what follows. Things should ALWAYS build on past events and rules. It has such a fulfilling end when done properly.

There are a few things that were said better in the dub compared to the sub.

you can think of the Buggy club as die-hard-Trump-supporters, in that they will create an excuse to justify whatever Buggy does.

Dont know if you realized it but they said Shanks Made it from the new world to Marineford in less than a day. Normally it would take a few days to get from the grandline to the new world

The reason why they chose not to fight Shanks isn’t because he might possibly be stronger than Whitebeard. It’s that he’s an Emperor of the Sea. It took everything they had to take down Whitebeard and Ace. If either Blackbeard or the Navy decided to take on ANOTHER Emperor, they will lose no matter how strong they are

you might have figured this out but i'll say it anyway. (this has no spoilers) so about the whole 'emperors are stronger than whitebeard' part is not true. it was stated by garp that whitebeard himself was one of the four emperors of the sea and arguably the strongest of the four. he IS considered the strongest man in the world and were rivals with the pirate king. one of the reasons the navy stopped the war for shanks was probably because they couldn't handle another emperor after just one caused so much damage (if you don't remember, garp said that the four emperors are considered the greatest pirates in the world). so yeah the emperors are crazy strong and whitebeard was an example.

I know you're already past this point Ruff, but Shanks was able to stop the war just by showing up because it was like as if White Beard in his prime had just showed up. It took all the warlords, all the admirals, all the marines, to fight the white beard pirates, and white beard as a 72 year old man. Shanks showing up, in his prime, an Emperor of the sea. They were outclassed. There's a reason they can't catch these guys.

Moving on, Its not that WG can not fight shanks. They just cant even think about fighting him right now. They had a huge war with 1 emperor, almost got destroyed, had huge losses, there power houses have been fighting serious battles, and now another emperor and his crew pulled up, who is as strong as whitebeard. Hawk eye left, balckbeard is still here, whitebeard commandors are all here. So when shanks ask them to stop and both sides leave, the best choice is to stop. Cause fighting will end in there loss. And we have seen that shanks is more off a guy who tries to calm everyone and stop the fights. Tried to stop ace by talking to whitebeard stopped kaido from engaging whitebeard (which could either have resulted in navy + kaido against Whitebeard or whitebeard+ kaido vs navy) . I am sure sengoku knew that shanks is like that. That is why navy stopped in my opinion

Regarding your comment on it being hell to have to wait, I caught up with the anime and manga of One Piece about a year ago and I have to say that I am enjoying the week to week grind. Yes, sometimes it can be torture. But there is something to be said about the fun of waiting for the new information each release, looking at theories and analysis, and contemplating where the story is going in real time. It's not for everyone to be sure, and I am really glad I could binge up until the latest arc. But I am enjoying it a lot, personally. Great video!

You asked if shanks or others were above whitebeard, so answer is. Shanks and all yonkos are considered equals. Fan base argues who is above and who is not but story itself hasn’t said anything yet.

The four emperors (yonko) that heve been mentioned are Shanks, Kaido and whitebeard. So shanks and kaido are definitely not stronger than Whitebeard. It was mentioned in whitebeard introduction that he’s the world’s strongest man.

We haven't seen Kaido yet, but he's been mentioned a few times. In addition to battling Shanks shortly before the war started, Kaido was also the one who annihilated Gecko Moria's original crew in the New World, which led to Moria creating Thriller Bark. EDIT: Oh, and in regards to your question of whether Shanks and the other Emperors are stronger than Whitebeard: Whitebeard was also one of the Four Emperors. So we've got Shanks, Kaido, Whitebeard (now deceased), and a fourth Emperor who hasn't been revealed yet.

I think it was the youtuber Morj who said something that I think helps really put this arc into perspective: it's best to think of each of the Four Emperors as a rival military power to the World Government. Without getting too much into spoilers, each of the Four Emperors has a massively strong crew and rules over their own territory in the New World (like how Whitebeard put islands under his protection). Even though the World Government likes to say they're the strongest force in the world and call all the shots, if even two Emperors teamed up they could probably take them down. Just taking down Whitebeard's crew took everything they had, and even then they weren't sure they could do it at the very beginning. They're just lucky that the Emperors tend to dislike each other too since they're all pirates. So when Shanks showed up, it's like if China rolled up after the US and Russia just exhausted themselves fighting each other (just using the militaries as an example, no political statement here). Of course no one is gonna wanna keep fighting at that point.

So many characters all doing things and reacting in ways unique to them that aren't completely out of nowhere and random because we've gotten to know them. There's more to it but man... What a treasure this series is

ive seen that theory on youtube but i kinda disagree. i think they really just meant back at mocktown the rest of his crew. if they could sense them that would mean it was actually hinting at luffy and zoro having obvesration haki and being able to sense mulitple eneimes.

There's a theory that came out around this time about why Blackbeard can use multiple devil fruits. And about the difference about his body Marco talked about could be parasitic twins. Also, when we first met Blackbeard in mock town and was talking to Luffy and Zoro about dreams, Nami asked who he was and the boys replied: "it's probably no 'he', but 'they'". Back then it's pointing to talking about the rest of his crew, but now after this I think it's multiple 'people' in Blackbeard's body. His jolly Roger is also 3 skulls, so maybe that could represent Teach having 3 people inside him? So by extension, be able to use 3 devil fruits?

To this point Kaido has been mentioned by Garp at the end of Enies Lobby along with a silhouette and just now with a Navy soldier saying he had an encounter with Shanks a day ago. Other than that you haven't actually seen him yet. DO NOT look up anything about him

While Blackbeard does have some big plans, he also is great at adapting. This was never his plan. He originally planned to turn in Luffy, not Ace. He probably planned to go after Whitebeard at some point it was never like this. But he saw how things changed and adapted brilliantly.
