It's not that bad in the manga. The anime definitely pushes it to the limit though, also keep in mind that the anime has more liberty and it's not really Oda that controls all aspects of the anime. I'm willing to bet it's the publishers pushing him to add it in because of a more younger or teenage audience. Oda has basically been #1 since his debut so I don't know why he would need to add it in since you can see from the beginning Nami and other female characters looked normal.

man, this arc is always the hardest for me to watch. Sanji is pissing me off big time with how much of a creep he is here. this is thriller bark Sanji all over again. And to this day, Oda still writes stuff like this. That's where being a female anime fan becomes hard sometimes.
