To me the next important focus of feminism needs to be intersectionality. It's overwhelmingly been a white woman focused movement for it's previous incarnations. What's the point if you're part of the hegemonic power, right? It's important to bring voices that have been largely ignored for the past 100 years.

So just to touch on the feminism sidetrack. The reason their's so many waves is equality means different things to different people stemming from how you define the groups, privledges, techniques and goals. For example one of the monikers for third wave feminism is fainting couch feminism due to encouragement of hyper sensitivity and focus on things such as micro aggressions. Only the flip side 2nd wave feminism was so aggressive it gets accused of being the wave man hating wave. This isn't really specific to feminism either. Every social movement has to deal with stuff in greater or smaller degrees from the workers rights movement to BLM. It's unfortunately how things work when dealing complex problems. And yes there are people who support only specific waves of feminism. For example, personally I used to be extremely hyper-sensitive when I was depressed. So the new waves of feminism seem counter intuitive to me and thus I only support the first two. It's actually quite interesting how this stuff comes about.
