The way they say it is a little unclear, but when they talk about Yuno and the elves, they talk about the elf spirit inside of Yuno, which was Licht's child

So Yuno's elf reincarnation is Lichts unborn baby so that's why it's conscious wasn't that strong and didn't take over Yuno, not Yuno himself. The first Wizard Kings identity was supposed to be obvious from when they first started showing the flashbacks of the elves and humans. Lichts old grimoire chose Asta and that's the connection between them. The only mystery at this point is Asta's devil. We still don't really know anything about it.

Yuno had the babies elf soul reincarnated into him, because the baby wasnt born into the world and didnt really experience when they got massacred, the baby didnt bare any hate to be amplified. hence leaving yuno in control.
