Fucking hell, I dunno how many times I watched this episode.
The Rat
What i think is the reason for apeas being so simp for miranjo is that apeas himself is extremely loyal. We see this when bojji was suppose to be king and was willing to kill daida. Because it was bojjis right and bosses will. However that change when it involve the person he was more indebted to. So his sense of gratitude and loyalty causes him to do so. Since he was gonna kill daida anyway, it would be safe to assume he had the same thought, and was still willing to use daida. Since it would benefit his first benefactor. But we see this change during the atk on hiling and with bojji vs bosse. He saved hiling, siding with bojji showing he still had loyalty and gratitude for her and bojji. He knows bojjis kind hearted. He doesn’t want to see someone whose he’s so indebted to be killed. Imo apeas is probably one of the most pure hearted ones in the show with bojji, cause he literally does everything from his heart. He doesn’t really hide anything.
