I get that depending on when it’s broadcasted it will be censored down for semi younger audiences. Which still boggles me since Lucy has her tops ripped off and almost having everything hang out more times than I would care to count in this series lmao

It all comes down to the original broadcast time slot the anime gets on TV in Japan. Middle of the day like Fairy Tail? Heavily censored. Late at night like Attack on Titan? All the blood. They dont animate separate versions of every episode to be censored, there's only one version and its made specifically for the original broadcast timeslot its given.

Slipstreamtogo Nah, cause I watched it dubbed first as well. And that was online so no broadcast lol. They definitely censored it for whatever strange reason for the vast majority of the anime. Which makes no sense to me but whatever… Was just a strange thing for me seeing Grey getting skewered by Lyon and all that yet it was, “I cut you but you no bleed! Why you no bleed!?” 🤣🤣🤣 Then I read the manga and I just go, “THERE’S the blood!” Lol

it was the anime companys descion to remove most of the blood they do bring it back later on in the anime

This is also the arc where I realized, “where’s the blood?” (I watched the anime, well…some of it, before I read the manga.) I was so confused in this arc when I realized that you could see them getting beat up pretty good but there is no blood lmao. Does anyone know why they censored the blood even though there was plenty of it in the manga? I think I tried looking for that answer before but came up empty
