As others have said in here, even if you catch up to the anime, you probably shouldn't watch Film Red immediately without catching up to the manga. There's a spoiler that won't be in the anime until most likely next year. BUT you can watch Stampede at the beginning of Wano.

I’ve read the spoilers for film red and even if you catch up with the anime you won’t be able to watch it by the time you catch up the anime will still be over 40 or hopefully 30 chapters behind but even then it’ll be over a year until you’ll be able to watch it. So you could catch up to the manga and then do manga chapter readings! I think we would all be down for that and you can continue to watch the anime because it’s fantastic. Would have to be careful tho because showing manga panels can get ya in trouble. or you can stick to the anime and wait. The choice is yours!

if I tell you what’s the spoiler then I’ll be spoiling you...sorry well, many ppl in japan don’t bother with spoilers that much I guess especially ones without context. OP is weekly content here everywhere, even if ppl haven’t caught up and watch the movie, we’ll just get curious like “what’s going on there?” and grab the new manga volume and that’s done. no need to freak out. hence the way they market manga-anime industry

watched film red earlier this week. if you want to be completely free from spoiler you need to catch up with the manga up to the recent chapter (at least chapter 1055) so yes even for anime only ppl will get spoiled. if you want to wait until anime finish wano then it’ll be next year... but the spoilers don’t give you the context the movie just show them without explaining. so for ppl who don’t mind that and just want to watch I’d 100% recommend just watch it. at least for ppl who finish whole cake in the anime. because there’re characters from WCI that appear in the movie yes incl katakuri (it was announced so this is not a spoiler) but there’s no wano character in the movie. I don’t think it will ruin your OP journey or whatsoever, the other way around I think it’ll give you the hype to catch up asap. best OP movie so far!

I saw some scenes from film red on tiktok and I can say that this film has some stuf from manga which hasn't yet been animated in anime. So if you don't want to be spoiled after you caught up with anime read manga and then watch the movie.
