The logic is to be a true dragon slayer in this story you have to have your powers given to you by the Dragon... like Natsu said early on he was taught his magic by Igneel. so yes they are artificial Dragon Slayers or FAKE dragon slayers lol

I don't get your logic, bodybuilders who use steroids have real muscles, but they are still differentiated by the fact that bodybuilders who don't use steroids are called 'natural' implying that using steroids makes you 'unnatural' or 'fake'

Cobra and Laxus are not fake Dragon Slayers. They are as real of Dragon Slayers as Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy. They just got their Dragon Slayer magic from a different source. It doesn't make them fake.
