The problem for fairytail is that the show is meant to be watched week to week basis this makes the recaps and endles explenations more bearable and the plot twists hit harder

Fairy Tail doesn't really get bad over time, it is just that some arcs are really poorly though out. The Tartaros arc as an example is a really good arc. Alvarez was awful. And the Avatar arc was a complete rushed dumpster fire, I feel this arc was teased and initially going to last longer, but it was thrown right out the window.

When people say a fairy tail gets worse as it goes on I am inclined to disagree. To me and only ramps up with the craziness every single passing arc. And therefore gets more and more hype. I can’t even wait for you to react in the next ark with tenro Island. With that being said fairy tail isn’t an anime that is for everyone. Comparative two other anime in the big five like Naruto bleach one piece and Dragon Ball it’s definitely a show that you have to vibe with in order to enjoy. But some people like to take some not so stellar moments from fairy tail in the later seasons, and blow them out of proportion. And that’s kind of what the hate for fairytale is overall. Exaggerator And really blown out of a portion. But Im really glad you enjoy it. And this arc is my third favorite arc in the entire series. Same for a lot of people. Can’t wait for you to see what this world entails
