Think all oda had to do was voice it. Have sanji before asking for help say something about how Robin would won and that he'd be doing her a favor not bringing her. Anything to show sanji thought highly of her pre calling

Yes for real, him asking for help is him growing as a person. Because as we know he never asks others for help and he just takes accountability on himself like what he did during WCI which was him trying to protect the crew all by himself

Sanji asking for help was pretty controversial in the manga too, but I feel like it adds to his character. He wouldn’t have asked if he didn’t know Robin was fully capable of handling the fight. And seeing Robins reaction to him asking her was was definitely worth making Sanji look not great for a moment imo

The way Oda handled Sanji in this moment with Black Maria was amazing. Sanji left the crew to handle his trouble alone in WCI, and now that he's back, he puts all of his faith and hope in his friends. The fact is, Sanji is not selling out Robin, he's putting his faith in her. He's confident she can win.

realistically? probably. Idk the reading schedule but 20 chapters = about 25 episodes which is about 25 weeks and its very plausible to catch up by then.

dude I was thinking the same thing I was really hoping he would stick to the anime until that chapter got animated at least but at this rate he will most likely see it in the manga first but oh well im here for it either way. The reactions will still be top tier

Dammit. I just realized the anime still has around 20 manga chapters to cover before it gets to the chapter that I've most wanted to see animated maybe ever. This means Ruff will catch up WAY before then. Hopefully he'll be just as excited when he's doing this week to week.

What do you mean Sanji is always like this in all arcs? He gets comic relief and comes in clutch that’s Odas formula. Sanji literally for the first time relied on his friends to fight the battle he could not. I feel like a lot of ppl missed that part of his encounter with Black Maria. Which is why Robin was also super happy to have Sanji rely on her when he never really does that.
