Sorry for the regular vanishing acts. This time I’ve been struggling with changing from night to day shift. And now, for your greatly belated DarthKeidran STORY-COMMENT™ Trace: “Mrs. Claus, I can’t remember if this young one was on the naughty list or not.” Child #5: “I’ve been very good Santa. I don’t even fight when bullies push me around.” Flora: “Give the young child a break Santa. You can be such a tease sometimes.” Trace: “Oh alright. Ms. Kathrin, will you be so kind as to give this child that gift over there?” Kat: “Are you sure Santa? Do you remember what this one is?” Trace: “Young one, I need to ask you a question. If you knew someone was in danger, and you could save them, but doing so could kill you, even if they bullied you, what would you do?” Child #5: “I-I’d… I would save them. I’d do anything I can to help.” Trace: “Ms. Kathrin, This child is worthy of the gift.” Kat: *brings the gift to the child* (whispering) “Santa and myself worked together to make this gift. But there are two things I want you to remember. Until you’re used to it, don’t use it at heights, and remember, with great power, comes great responsibility. We have a decoy gift in there to show your family and friends, alright. Open the first one in private.” Child #5: “Thank you Ms. Kathrin! Thank you Santa and Mrs. Claus!” *heads off as a group of triplets takes a seat on Trace’s lap.* Trace: “Mrs. Clause, Ms. Kathrin, this is a lively group, what do you think about that one over there?” Over in a walkout-basement, where Child #5 has returned to. Child #5’s mother: <“Oakley! Dinner’s ready… and that human friend of yours is joining us for dinner as well!”> Oakley: <“Okay Mom! Tell Reilly I’ll be up in a minute.”> *quickly hides primary gift and goes upstairs with the decoy in hand.* After dinner. Oakley: “I’ll see you later Reilly!” <“Thanks for Dinner Mom! I’m gonna go to bed early tonight. I’ve got to get up early tomorrow,”> Oakley’s Mom: <“Tomorrow’s Christmas Eve. The shop isn’t open tomorrow.”> Oakley: <“I know. I met some friends today and want to meet with them.”> *goes downstairs and opens the gift again, pulling out a note.* Note: “I live in the Manor on the hill with Trace Legacy, his soon-to-be wife Flora, and many other friends, many of whom are Keidran. We’ll help you with this gift if you come to us.” *Unwraps the contents, revealing a mysterious outfit with a 🕷 symbol, as well as a pair of thin gauntlets.* Note continues: “It’s important to keep this a secret. When you wear this, use a different name. We thought SpiderKid is something g good for now.” Oakley: (thoughts) <“No. Not SpiderKid… SnowSpider.”> *puts on the outfit and sneaks out of the house, going to the Manor on the hill. To be continued… My idea was “Spider-Fox” but I chose “SnowSpider because I wanted Oakley’s gender to be up in the air, as well as Reilly’s, so that people would be able to envision them their own ways. If Oakley was “SpiderFox” it would imply that Oakley’s male. I also like the idea of Oakley being an Arctic/Snow Fox Keidran, thus, SnowSpider was born.
