Well I'm kinda sad now. I used to have a really awesome dog, a lab and golden retriever mix, who we had gotten a year or two after I was born, so I had grown up pretty much with knowing her, who's name was Jade. Sadly she died a few years ago from cancer. Glad to see that the name can be carried on by what we can say is a pretty freaking epic character.

Well, now we know her first name, and her hobby, and that she’s impervious to magic. Fan Theory: In a few IRL months, Adelaide, along with a messenger tasked with returning and informing the island of The King’s untimely (virtually impossible) demise. Rose informs Adelaide that due to magical defenses of the estate she needs to request authorization from trace before granting entry, being a Honey Badger, Adelaide just takes what she wants and barges in, facing no ill effects from the magical defenses, with her messenger being a chicken and remaining outside (might have literally became a chicken if he/she followed). Rose, who was anticipating having to rescue Adelaide due to the few previous Basitin intruders quickly going insane post transformation, develops a state of panic and summons a worthy opponent for Adelaide, the Guardian, leading us to witness an epic “JADE SMASH!!!” moment. Trace, woken by the sound of the main floor’s demolition, comes downstairs. Noticing who is managing to hold her own against, but not annihilate, the Guardian, he tells Rose that She, and those with her, are invited into the manor. Rose sends the Guardian away, who is wagging it’s tail like a happy puppy. Adelaide asks Trace “Where is Maddy?!” Trace informs her that Maddy and Karen nearly got themselves killed by the guardian and that Rose had transported them to the Dungeon to save their lives, as well as that he can’t even remember where the dungeon is. Rose then interrupts, saying “That’s more excitement than I ever wish to experience again. Now Miss…” with Adelaide impatiently interrupting “King. King Adelaide.” Rose then states “I will go retrieve your Daughter Your Highness.” Finally, Natani and Keith, barely dressed, having also been woken by, and investigating the noise, arrive, the latter becoming terrified that he is, by Basitin standards, naked with a naked Keidran in front of his superior.

I really like these reference sheets, I think they are a great way to show more about each individual character in detail that would otherwise be arduous to do in the comic itself while maintaining a natural flow.

One thing I like about her is that her warrior leader side and her motherly/feminine side are not treated as separate. They are are just two halves of a blended whole that makes her feel far more believable as a (predominantly) beloved ruler. A mistake many make with characters of her strength, particularly female characters to tell the truth, is that they strip away too much of their humanity. The barbarian warlord can be a horror on the battlefield, but how is he with his own men, his family, tiny rabbits. What I'm saying is I like her.

Once I read the details, I had to go get a tape measure and actually get a feel for what 7' 2" actually looks like. It's about half a head taller than every doorframe in my house, which puts her eyes right about the top of the door. I stood there and marveled for a minute, imagining what it must be like to look her in the eye from up close.

Something I don't think I knew... Obviously the King is the strongest, but she actually had a week long fight to the death with the previous King to claim the title. Who had to be a badass in their own right, when you think about it

Enjoyed seeing this drawn as Adelaide is one of my favorite characters. I like that Tom did make her sexy yet strong (while adhering to canon to a degree!). Also she and Natani are both very muscular and strong. I hope this gets colored. And it is funny to cause everyone to freak out too! Lol!

Let's see...7'2" (about the height of a Halo Spartan or a Space Marine), strong enough to knock over a tower (albeit nearly killing her) which makes her as strong as or stronger than RvB Meta, incredibly resistant to magic, and endowed with deadly intelligence...I'd say that King Jade Adelaide is a bit of a badass.
