Raine: "Oh! Um... Auntie Rose told me to tell you..." Euchre: "Let me guess. She'd like me to catch some terrible mystery wasting disease, or she hopes I perish in a gruesome accident while in the middle of some vulgar and physically improbable act with a prostitute of indeterminate gender. Something like that?" Raine: *Blushes. "Uh... Actually, all she had to say was, um... 'Don't mess it up'. I don't exactly know what she meant, but..." Euchre: *Smiles wryly.* "That's okay, dear. I think I do. Tell her... Tell her I'll try." *Clears throat.* "Now then. Enough about tired old wolves and their silly spats. We were supposed to be catching up! Tell me about you, love. I hear you've been on quite the adventure, of late!" Raine: "Haha! You could say that!" The two talked long into the day. And for the first time in a long time, Euchre tried. He really did.
