Every drawing that has had Brutus and “Clovis' sister” together, he's always blushed. It's pretty clear that Brutus is attracted to her, but with her supposed relation to The Boss, Brutus would NEVER act on the attraction without very explicit consent, as well as permission from The Boss. Because he's a good boi. 🐺

It's worth considering that *we* know Clovis' secret. Brutus has no idea, and probably doesn't even think it's possible. Put yourself in his place. You don't have to be particularly simple to believe Clovis' "obvious" lie if you discount the truth from the beginning.

Also! As discussed in the stream chat on Sunday, my current headcanon is that "Clovis' sister" is named Cloviss. The single extra "S" is enough to convince Brutus they're not the same person. After the events of the comic, Cloviss gives up on evil schemes and trying to become male again and settles down with Brutus; convincing him that Clovis died tragically just out of frame and left all of his inheritance to her. Brutus misses his boss terribly, but his new bosswife is so oddly familiar that it helps him forget some. In fact, other than the gender thing, sometimes it feels like the boss never left at all!
