Comics is bad on biology (and physics, except everyday light physics) in general. C.f. how development is 'evolution' and differences is 'mutant' (some could be, in principle, at that, but again they depict it as developmental).

So that’s who tanlen is! I remember he was mentioned in chapter 17, no wonder maren has such a negative view of keidran, dang I really hope they are both spared in this chapter and that this can be addressed.
