I imagine fast-forwarding the timeline to an older Keith, and unlike the sketch where he's trying to drown his sorrows (a la "Familiar Grief" https://www.patreon.com/posts/familiar-grief-36844402 ) he would be celebrating their lives that they had together along with Trace and an elderly Flora. (It's my head canon.) There will be losses from the current story's shenanigans, as violence always seems to cut lives far too short. Clovis is a mean S.O.B., but if he bites it in the offering, at least some "good" came of it. Death can suck, but that should never detract from the life that was led. If memory serves, basitins live longer than keidran do on average, but just because your life was enhanced by the people in your life and now is dimmed at their loss, that doesn't mean you give up on life itself. Be the example of what can happen after loss. Grieve the loss, yes, but do not wallow in it. "Familiar Grief" is an example of the latter.
