I like this piece, as it also shows the practical nature that magic can take on. For instance, she's holding a blade and striking it with the hammer. If you're striking on the blade, the steel is hot enough to be malleable, and although most of the heat is gathered in the part you're working on, a good deal of it is still transferring to the rest of the blade. Blacksmiths who can't use or afford magic use tongs to hold the blade to prevent third-degree burns. This smith has a specialized gauntlet. It should also be noted that this may not necessarily be during wartime, but could be during a more "peaceful" time where her scorn could be over having to make a tool of war. Many smiths prefer to make other steel pieces that aren't necessarily for ending lives. The grimace could be scorn over the piece itself, the reason she's making the piece, or it's just her "don't bother me I'm working" focus. In any other time, this could go in any direction, even in the time with where the political story is.

it also brings up the efficiency as you don't have to think much about where the clutter is as you can focus more safely carrying the hot metal around

If your a black Smith,you can try to keep it clean,but,I kinda don't see the point when it's just going to become an absolute mess when you forge again,not to mention your using your forge alot,practically every day to finish just one piece
