An online friend I have who is friends with some of her local foxes tells me that her fox friends are unaffected by catnip, but some research I have done reveals that it’s just like with cats - some foxes go nuts for catnip and some don’t..,

Read JasonAW3's comment. It seems that foxes (who are as closely related to felines as they are to canines) are affected by catnip. Oh! And foxes aren't canines, they're vulpines. However, they are canids. Sorry to get technical but that's something most people don't realize.

This does not make sense. Foxes are canines like wolves and dogs, so she shouldn't be affected by the cat nip unless anyone can tell me otherwise.

Yeah, oddly enough I, stumbled upon this info whe I was doing some research on vulpines. (Researching for an RPG I'm working on). Surprised me so much I checked three other sources, before I asked an animal handler who worked at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, for confirmation. Sure enough, foxes go goofy for catnip. Who would have thunk it?
