Well, they are similar to a degree as they can't metabolize alcohol the same way as humans do. Which is why they need more Keidran-safe [in IRL would be considered "Kid-safe" in the historic context] alcohol. Basitins, the other Furry folk, is the other extreme. Their species are resistant to the point of near-immunity of poisons and magic that they can drink something more akin to industrial strength alcohol and be fine to a degree.
