The only reason you're even legally allowed to be with your boyfriend, without being arrested or killed, is because of the LGBT community fighting together for those rights. You ought to break up with your boyfriend, seeing as your hate towards trans people is more important to you than your love towards him. Id‘d like to ask for some more respect in discussion. As I see Nat and Keith as complex characters (and like them for that), things might not be that easy. It is said in canon that with the reunification with the mind shard of Youngtani Nat is able to accept his ‚girly‘ feelings - as he puts it - more as before. So the things said here are not completly wrong in my eyes. But Natani sees himself still as a boy and being able to work with the girly part of his self only makes him even stronger. Just my two cents.

Except that's incorrect, it's been confirmed that Nat's masculine feelings and male identity all came from himself, and that the black magic and soul meld had no impact on that. Zen just thought so, and that belief was what got carried over. As Tom himself said, Natani has the mind of a guy and that's how he sees himself. He doesn't know the first thing about women or what they're like and thus doesn't relate to them at all. That's a direct quote, by the way. Referring to Nat as female is not only disrespectful towards the character, as he's explicitly stated several times that he wants to be seen as the guy he is, and not a woman, but also to all the queer fans who relate to him. Natani is a trans man, and that's non-debatable.

Through the spiritual connection with her brother, Natani felt male, but this connection, which was once established by Clovis, was severed by Clovis in the last battle. Afterwards, Natani found a younger part of herself inside herself, with which she then united, which is why she no longer needed the connection with her brother. If you take this into account, it is possible that Natani could feel more feminine again.

I am absolutely with you on that, Alaric. To say it with my love for language: we are all embers of the same flame. No one is bad or wrong because of their origin, skin color or sexual orientation. We should treat everyone with respect so that they don't feel uncomfortable in our presence. And for me, this also applies to imaginary characters, onto whom you can project so much and on whom you can cool your heels. And often enough you find this later on in the streets. But back now to lighter topics. The minute men will ride again, if this will be necessary.

I couldn't agree more, Joshu! I wish we didn't have to do this almost every other week. Still, so long as some will insist on using the wrong pronouns and feminizing the character (and no misunderstanding, they know what they're doing, and it's gross), something needs to be said, even if it has to be repeated again and again. If someone has an issue with a trans character, that suggests they have a problem with trans fans, and who is to say they don't have a problem with other gay characters then, and by extension, gay fans like myself? I have no issues with talking things out and helping some who might not understand educate themselves better if that were so desired. Heck, I try and gaysplain that there is nothing wrong with finding an LGBTQ character attractive, which changes nothing about one's orientation, and fanservice need not be diminished, either. It can be improved with more positivity! But it's repeatedly made clear to me that some people don't want to listen and are intent on being malicious.

Am I the only one who finds it a shame when discussions about the treatment of trans people break out here at every opportunity? Even if they are only sparked by misunderstandings due to the medium, for me it shows that our societies still have a lot of catching up to do.
