🕑 Added 2024-10-05 16:48:55 +0000 UTCLet me tell you folks, the past 2 days were ROUGH. I've had pets pass away before, but never by a decision I had to be a part of. And what sucks is, I feel like it didn't have to happen if I could have financially afforded to get her the care she needed. Man, for anyone who says people with pets and no kids can never understand, I'd challenge that sentiment to a degree.

I have been sole caregiver for my critically ill wife for 2 years now. Yes, it's good she has made it 2 years on a '6 months to live' sentence. But she is suffering a LOT. Yes, that's not the same as having to put down a pet (I've had to do that a number of times when I was much, much younger). I don't know which is worse, to be honest. But then I am in 'compassion fatigue'.

We had to put our old husky down a few years back, and it was the hardest, most sinking feeling we ever had to make....Its really really rough. I'm very sorry you both had to go through that, man, and I still wish all the best for you guys.

I just had to take my dog to the vet today, he’s been breathing badly. He’s got fluids in his lungs and an enlarged heart. He’s not himself and my thoughts have been on you and Chimmy and Grace as our family goes through this, have to help my family deal with this too. But you still had time to put out art.
