Ah. A rebuild on a rebuild is asking for trouble! I'd probably still do the autopsy out of curiosity and to see if I could put it back together. - The Delco would explain why she sounded happier! :)

No autopsy necessary. The old one was your garden variety rebuilt junk. 4 years tops, which is why I popped for a brand new AC Delco ;)

Okay, I'm probably the weird one here who finds the safety aspect super hot, even safety after what I suspect is the result of experience. ;) Also really curious if the old alternator will be kept for parts or be rebuilt - is it even worth rebuilding? Would an alternator autopsy potentially help diagnose underlying issues that might be hiding elsewhere or only within the unit itself? ...Sorry, sometimes it's hard to turn off my brain when a fun puzzle like "Why doesn't it work?" presents itself. Fun audio! Can't wait to hear what we help with next; fingers crossed on an oil change. ;D
