Announcement: Editing and Rewriting

I must apologize profusely for not showing up on Friday. I have been fortunate enough to find a wonderful woman to help me with the editing process. In the midst of our discussions, I've come to realize that Death Healer should have taken a different direction. And I know that many felt somewhat similarly in reviews and comments: however, before talking to this fantastic editor, it hadn't really become clear to me how a rewriting of the novel would look like.
In light of these recent revelations, I've decided to rewrite the story from scratch. Some of the elements will stay the same, but several key characters will be removed or completely rewritten. This won't be an 'edit,' in fact, as much as it will be a drastic rewrite. The story will go in a different direction as well.
I pondered over this for about a week while in conversation with my editor. Now, I've finally made my decision. I know it's very unusual for a story of this size on RoyalRoad to stop, re-assess, and undergo drastic changes, but I would feel less of a writer if I didn't go through this. I've been outlining and collecting the feedback received up to this point to make sure not to make the same mistakes.
Death Healer - as the story will at least keep the title - will be back in about two weeks with new chapters, starting from a completely new chapter 1. The chapters will initially appear only on Patreon.

We’ll see how it goes, but I, for one, greatly, greatly, greatly enjoyed the second half of the story more than the first half. I am not excited to reread all the lack of agency, lack of system, imprisoned and helpless girl parts. To me the story didn’t really begin until she reached the monastery.

So what you're saying is that murdering Elysium once was not enough? Is that what I'm hearing? Damn. Well... At least can you make it so Lily doesn't just ignore him at that time? It was a bit disappointing...
