That is a very interesting idea. It’s along the lines of my own thinking (though reversed) when I wrote a sci-if script for a future comic. As for this story, I’ve already written the entire script, and the changes are all magical by nature. Science and biology basically become silly putty while being manipulated by magic.

When there is reversal scene, do not recede the hair nor nails. Have him have to cut his nails and hair, since they would biologically be dead cells and shouldn't change back. Only grow.
