If you've not read the comic / seen the show, you are missing context. In fact, my animation loosely echoes the first episode of the animation, and the context of my animation is that Adashino (the man) and Sumireko have already experienced a few supernatural phenomena, some of which have directly affected Sumireko (who has the ability to change her age as she sees fit due to story reasons). So the joke here is Adashino assuming something else has happened to Sumireko, and his comments about her breasts getting bigger were just a cheeky joke, but in fact turned out to be half-true, which are a genuine surprise to him. Adashino often makes jokes to lighten the mood, and this was his attempt at doing so, but sometimes a joke comment turns out to hit the nail on the head. Also, every character in the show comments on her chest (how could you not?), so it's not out of character for him to say such things. It was his way of breaking the ice, although not in a tactful manner. Also, Adashino has...powers, shall we say. While he may not know exactly what is going on with Sumireko until he gets there, previous events of the show strongly hint to him that something supernatural is going on. (Did you see the yellow sign behind Sumireko? That is an indicator of a supernatural "oddity", which the series is all about, and Adashino is well versed in. Only Adashino and another character can see these signs). That was me, explaining the joke for several paragraphs XD Whenever I write these animations, I try to make it feel like an episode of the show, one that would never air on TV. So I write with the assumption you have a passing knowledge of the media I'm working with. Sometimes that means jokes / ideas fail, unless you know a little bit about the show in question. I'm still not sure if that's a good or bad way to do things, but it's worked thus far for everything else I've done!

Very promising so far. I'm curious: Why would he say, "Did your boobs get bigger?" while he was still behind the door, before he actually knew what was happening? Is that missing context from the show I just don't know about? I like this kind of stuff, I just found it weird that he came in expecting her to expand, as though he was in on it or something.
