G04. Get it? G04? Yeah, not that funny...
So I had grander plans for this game, but honestly I'm not feeling it. This is basically the tutorial, after which the game would begin, with longer levels and a "hub" you come back to, where the pregnancy growth would happen. But I dunno...seems like a lot of effort when I can make something simpler, just one screen with one game mechanic and no bullshit, especially not endless dialogue. You're here for tums, not dialogue lol.
Rather than consign it to the trash heap, here's the prototype. I won't bore you with the various details of making it, but I managed to make all movement and mechanics code based, with no timelines (timelines are the main cause of lag, fyi). The music for the expansion scene is nice, tho. Might re-use that in the future.
If people really like it, I could probably revisit it in the future. The base code is all there so I can focus on making more levels, and probably a better scene for the expansion. But eh, I don't think it's interesting enough to dump more time into it. I'm sorry I don't have more to show for the time spent on it!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy what meagre content there is here. I'm gonna try and finish up an illustration before the month ends, and after that, maybe try another game, this time much more simple, and featuring a trending character. TTFN!

A pretty interesting concept like the fun dinosaur jumping game when there's no internet connection. I can definitely see how this can be fleshed out in the future. :D

Yeah, that's a good point. I just figured that'd be the best of both worlds. I also thought it could make for a pretty funny ending where the character's belly gets so big it breaks the barrier and 'crashes' the game. But yeah, I'll admit I don't know anything about making games so I don't know how hard that'd actually be to make.

Maybe, but then I'll get people saying "I can't play the game and look at the belly at the same time", like I have with old games. Plus the lag might make it unplayable. Split-screen with some kind of pause between waves might be best.

I wish there was a way to "accidentally" have the player fall into that tube and end up in the womb!

I think it's a cute idea. If you do decide to work on it more in the future (or anything like it in the future), then might I suggest making it a split screen? That way one side of the screen can be the game while the other shows the pregnant character's belly expanding as you play.
